Mid-market M&A in Australia

Foley Durham co-hosted another educational lunch yesterday with KPMG Australia, led by Peter Turner, National Head of Corporate Finance and National Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, on M&A and Private Equity.

Key themes were that positive growth, improving cash flows, strengthening balance sheets, low cost of debt, investor support and CEO confidence all continued to boost M&A activity in the past five years. Private equity was involved in the mid-market, deploying $2b on a range of targets across retail, consumer foods, financial services, and medical services in FY19.

We were once again, delighted to have hosted a small group of senior business leaders who contributed to a vibrant discussion on Private Equity and market sentiment.
